Ambassadors of Jesus (update) - "my name is Luckson Almanord, Pastor Lucien Almanord's son, I have some good new, Pastor Lucien is alive and well, the children of the orphanage are doing fine also, we thank god for this miracle in this great tragedy. from the brief contact i was able to have with him he has told me that they had set up a camp behind his main church in La PLaine which is now occupied by over 3,000 people, right now there is a shortage of water and medicine.”

Angel House (PAP) - Carpenter said a “good portion” of a house for handicapped boys and adults collapsed, as did the orphanage’s new surgery center. Fortunately, all of the boys were safe."

Angels of Christ Orphanage - status unknown - just opened on Dec. 24, 2009. It is located at located at #22, Ruelle à côté de G.S. Industries Lathan, LaPlaine, P-au-P. They have received no news on the orphans, workers or the building even two days after the disaster. There is also a school serving 175 children: Institution Primaire Mixte de la C.E.P.H. de Lathan. Brent Gambrell Ministries (Carrefour) - Orphanage, home to 40 children all under the age of six, as well as twelve staff members are all reported safe. The structure did sustain damage and the children are being cared for by the staff and living outside.

Creche Amour - adoptive parents have received a mail from Mr Luke informing that all goes well for the crèche and the orphanage - can anyone confirm if this is the same orphanage as Crèche Don D Amour in Petionville?

Creche Bonheur des Enfants - children and the director of the nursery are well. What a relief!

Crèche Coeur d'enfant/Child's Heart - All children are safe.

Crèche Coeur de Marie (CDM) - All the children well, a baby injured. The building was preserved when the food is destroyed. (translated from French)

Crèche de l'enfant Jésus (CEJ) - Lots of damage and material losses but everyone is safe
(although very, very shaken emotionally). Children and staff are safe on the 2 nurseries.

Crèche Don D Amour (Petionville) - All children are well, the nannies, the director and his family too, children sleep in the yard.

Creche Nid d’Amour - Estelle Salamon has been found and evacuated.

Creche Notre Dame de la Nativité (PAP Fontamara 27) - The buildings collapsed. Children are still trapped under the rubble. The others sleep outside. Major damage was the nursery, children injured and more are stranded. At least 3 children killed (January 16 update) after a brief telephone contact with the director of the nursery Mrs. Louis Jacques reported significant damage: As part of the building is collapsed and there would be wounded.

Creche Notre Dame des Victoires - from a local Haitian Association ti'Moun, found Sister Marie-Véronique surrounded by all children, no one is hurt, the new building has suffered, the roof was collapsed, but it was lunchtime and the children were on the ground floor, it has brought out all the children and moved with them in the former premises

Crèche des Brebis de Saint Michel - Children and orphanage are fine.

Croix des Missions (Butte Boyer) - all survivor are waiting since 5 days about Rescue, Water is a big problem, They are a children's nursery with lot of children to help! all houses are collapsed, lot of died and injured people in the street

Danita’s Children - all safe

Dillon Children’s Village - We have learned from Gladys Thomas, the Director of Dillon’s Programs in Haiti, that the Children’s Village and Hope Hospital are okay. There has been some flooding and one of the walls on a building collapsed, and many people are gathering in this location but otherwise all is well. The Village (orphanage home) has food, but the children are scared.

Enfant Haïtien - Mon Frère - (PAP) update: Building is badly hit, all children and director Rolande Lafontant are fine but three young adults are under the ruins. They are seeking shelter around the school. direct phone contact with Rolande Lafontant learns that she and the children have found shelter, food and water and they are in good health. Foyer de Sion - ALL of the Foyer kids are now at the LDS church in PetionVille. Junior Mardy reports that they have enough food for about 2 more days but have no clean water. Mandi (an adoptive mother and RN who was in Haiti on a medical mission when the earthquake occurred) is trying to get a water purifier to them tomorrow. update: Water, food and medical care has reached the children of Foyer de Sion in Petionville.

Foyer des Amis (Fontamara 27) - status unknown

Foyer des Filles de Dieu - building severely damaged/unusable, five girls killed, director Paula is safe … see separate post for more details … update: The three children killed were not residents of the orphanage, rather a child of a staff member and two friends, according to a report Friday night from Paula's son Renan Thybulle, who lives in New Jersey. Grace Children’s Hospital (Delmas 31) - is ok. More word will be coming soon about how the facility will reach out to the rest of PAP.

Grace House of Hope for Girls (Bon Repos) - orphanage and accompanying church - Early Wednesday morning, she learned via e-mail from a fellow missionary that both the church and orphanage were destroyed in the earthquake. Workers were able to shepherd all of the children from the orphanage before the collapse, so no one was injured. http://dailyherald.com/story/?id=350640

Greater Works Home for Girls (Delmas 33) - all children and workers at Greater Works Home for Girls are safe! A very large part of the building has collapsed but all got out! its a miracle of God. www.gwhghaiti.com

Haitian Children's Aid Society - "Doug Decksheimer, local board member for the Central Alberta-based Haitian Children’s Aid Society, said the orphanage they support in Haiti is about “30 to 40 miles” outside of Port-au-Prince and that “the fringe of the earthquake was right about that point.” In a satellite phone call that Decksheimer made to the orphanage on Tuesday night, he found out that the 40 children housed in the building are OK, but that some damage was done to the structure. The staff members are fine, too, but some of the locals hired to help out with laundry services and the like haven’t yet checked in."

H.I.S. (Haitian Interdenominational Shelter) Home for Children - all 125 children safe but major damage to building … Julie Manfred, a volunteer, said they have already begun making arrangements for the 125 children under their care. She was briefly able to contact the orphanage director before the phone lines went down and learned that all of the children were safe. "They did have walls fall down at the orphanage. But they had all the kids outside in a safe area," she said.

Holy Angels Hospice & Orphanage (Rue Refuge, LaPlain outside PAP) - status unknown - a home for terminally ill and disabled children. Director is Jean Pascal, and the founder is our friend Fr. Tony Cortesi (who is in hospital in the U.S.).

H.O.P.E. Center - run by CSI Ministries all 20 children alive, some children with minor injuries (cuts, bumps, bruises) but major damage to the orphanage. The 20 girls they care for, mostly between the ages of 3 and 5, came out of the disaster with "a few minor cuts, bumps and bruises." "But structurally, we have some major damage," he said, adding that the two long perimeter walls of the rectangular-shaped building completely collapsed in the quake. "There's obviously some interior rooms standing and the rest of it's gone."

We're still waiting for information on Nadia Bernadin or confirmation on which children where at which location. " We have heard that the majority of the children in the care of this orphanage are alive. There are a few that have yet to be confirmed as they were elsewhere when the earthquake struck so please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers. JBA/Cabaret School - "The JBA ministry compound, the Cabaret School, orphanage and church were mostly undamaged in the quake, except for a 250-foot section of the perimeter wall, according to Ron Rowe, JBA director of missions, and all of the workers and children at the compound have been accounted for. ""We are all doing OK. The children are fine," Pierre Prinvil, JBA's onsite coordinator, told David Garrett in an e-mail. Garrett is the association's director of church and community ministries. "We will need emergency funds and mission teams to help rebuild the wall," Prinvil wrote.""

L’Arc en Ciel (Rainbow House) - the orphanage directors, Daniel and Robert Penette, and children survived. This orphanage is the only one Solely dedicated to HIV-positive children. But other orphanages sustained damage and loss of life.
